Lynne Hendricks is a Newburyport, Massachusetts native who brings a calm, thoughtful approach to real estate—rooted in a deep love for the place she still calls home. With an insider’s understanding of Newburyport’s neighborhoods, lifestyle, and ever-evolving market, Lynne helps clients feel confident at every step, whether they’re buying their first home, selling a longtime family property, or making a move within the community.

 

Before real estate, Lynne built a career around storytelling and connecting people to what matters. She attended film school and studied media and journalism at Columbia College Chicago, later earning a B.A. in Writing Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After graduating, she spent 15 years as an award-winning journalist, writing for magazines and newspapers in Southwest Florida and for her hometown paper, the Newburyport Daily News. Her work sharpened the skills that serve her clients today: listening closely, asking the right questions, and communicating clearly.

 

Lynne’s background also includes marketing roles with the Chicago International Film Festival, The Ringling Museum of Art, and the YWCA Greater Newburyport—experience that translates naturally into smart, strategic property positioning and a polished, authentic presentation style. Above all, Lynne is known for being easy to talk to, steady under pressure, and genuinely invested in helping people land in the right place—especially in the city where she grew up, where her historic knowledge and connections to the people and community run deep. Lynne's transition from journalism to real estate began over the summers, working for her family's luxury real estate firm in Boca Grande, Florida, drafting letters, writing real estate descriptions, and running them over to the local newspaper. She first became licensed in 2005 under her family’s Brokerage, as a way to pursue her growing interest in real estate as an investment in fixer-upper homes and multi-family properties in the northeast. Hailing from a family whose dining room table conversations frequently delved into real-world real estate problems and solutions, making the transition to a full-time Real Estate Agent 8 years ago was a natural one. Lynne's knack for communicating a home’s story and her ability to visualize potential from an investment perspective, along with hometown knowledge of the Greater Newburyport real estate market, give her a unique edge that benefits both her buyers and sellers.

 

Having covered Newburyport’s schools and written thousands of stories about the people and places that make Greater Newburyport so special, she enjoys sharing her vast knowledge with clients. She has been a consistent Top Producing agent from year one, and has ranked among the top 5 producing agents in Newburyport for the last 3 years. In 2025, she earned the distinction for the highest average sales price in Newburyport among the top 5 agents, with a guiding principle of securing for her clients the highest possible sale price - whether a fixer-upper or a luxury new construction home. In 2025, she represented the highest-priced sale ever in the Newburys. Using her vast knowledge and understanding of the list process, she also helped a number of Buyer clients turn dreams of home ownership into reality - in a competitive market where crafting winning terms isn’t always about offering the highest price.

 

When not practicing real estate, Lynne enjoys traveling to far-off places, and stay-cations that focus on cooking, reading good books, and spending time with her husband, Steve, and their 3 sons. She continues to write stories, shared occasionally with a small audience of family and friends, especially if it involves the funny antics of the 2 family dogs.
